Regional Director of Sales - Northeast


Position Summary:

The Regional Director is responsible for delivering budgeted sales volume and EBITDA for his/her sales region.  This individual will accomplish this through the essential functions and responsibilities noted below.  


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for recruiting, selecting and managing sales representatives (company employed sales managers and brokers) to effectively manage the business needs of the region
  • Responsible for developing a working relationship with the Top 10 Region Customers
  • Will be responsible for updating and managing the CRM Tool (customer relationship management)
  • Will assist sales managers and brokers with their business challenges?
  • Focused on Sales Management, accountability and development
  • Will drive implementation and compliance of programs developed by the Commercial Sales National Accounts team and other sellers, i.e. Sodexo, Centerplate, Compass, WFM etc.
  • Will assist in driving distributor headquarter strategies developed by our National Distribution Team
  • Will be accountable for targeting and driving sales with our strategic distributors Key Leveraging Accounts (KLA) like the contract feeders and GMOs and using these sales to gain a stocking position at distributors
  • Focuses the organization on innovative and differentiated product selling at distributors and end-operators
  • Implementation and management of customer programs
  • Budget management of customer promotional spending
  • Support and implementation of customer programs developed by the National Distribution team
  • Drives training and continuing education initiatives for sales team to improve skills and to increase productivity


Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Sales, or a combination of education and 10+ years of work-related experience required
  • Experience managing, coaching and developing direct reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with ability to build lasting productive business relationships with hourly employees, management, and peers
  • Must possess a high degree of professionalism in handling confidential information
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational and auditing skills required
  • Critical decision maker with the ability to work independently
  • Must live inside of the region
