Position Summary:
The essential functions and duties of the Quality Assurance Technician include, but are not limited to, understanding and applying Good Manufacturing Practices, standard operating procedures, quality procedures, customer requirements. Properly record and document inspection results. Perform accurate product inspections at appropriate sampling frequencies. Perform raw material inspections at appropriate frequencies. Work independently and follow through on assignments to completion. Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
Quality Support
Assist, and train machine operators in QC data collection as needed
Assist Quality Manager with AIB/BRC guideline compliance.
Serves as back-up to shift supervisor on the Product Safety Team.
Responsible for reporting food safety issues
Daily Production Audit/Retains
Review Production parts, and data on a daily basis to ensure accuracy of information, and that expectations are met.
Inspection of finished product using approved methodologies as compared to CTF
CTF/Prints
Ensure all CTF information on Part prints are correct before being sent to the Production floor. Create master copy of attribute logs, and maintain files as required
Organize retains
Establish retain requirements, and monitor the process.
Verification of samples to CTF
Audit Quality Documentation
Verify quality log captures CTF requirements.
Verify log is completed properly
Incoming Raw Materials Inspection
Audit raw materials as compared to material specifications
Manage Quality Logs
Create/revise quality logs as compared to CTF
Project Data Collection
Measure, collect and organize project data.
Quality Records Retention
File records, Purge files quarterly
Manage Fixtures
Organize fixture cabinet.
Perform Process Capability as required.
Verify conformance to CTF’s, and assist in design testing/results prior to first run production.
Inspect fixtures for cleanliness and functionality.
Monitor calibrations
Manage Retention Sample Area
Organize, identify and store both quality and engineering samples
Candidate Requirements:
Working knowledge of plastics and thermoforming desired.
Working knowledge of measuring instruments; micrometers, calipers, etc.
Familiarity with quality control methodologies.
Attention to detail in dimensional studies and data collection, including statistical process control. Working knowledge of MS Office.
Good organization and communication skills.
Capable of performing physical activities to which include; standing, sitting, climbing, reaching, or bending for prolonged periods of time. Some lifting and/or carrying. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Following GMP in compliance with all food safety requirements.
