Senior Accountant


Position Summary:
This position is responsible for a wide array of accounting processes with primary focuses on cash reporting and forecasting, as well as financial statement analysis.  The incumbent for this role will participate in the external audit, ensure compliance with internal controls and partner with all levels of corporate and operations personnel.  This position reports to the Business Unit Controller.


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
•    Broad-based financial leadership role with a wide range of responsibilities including financial consolidation process, monthly accounting and reporting, intercompany reconciliations, financial analysis, technical accounting issues, and internal controls.  In addition, must interact regularly with other personnel on key accounting and operational issues.  Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tasks in compliance with the monthly close calendar.
•    Lead the preparation of monthly cash flow reporting and forecasting for the U.S. business unit
•    Lead in the process to complete monthly balance sheet analysis, including presenting fluctuations to Corporate and ensuring any balance sheet movements are appropriately factored into the cash flow forecast. 
•    Participate in the process to complete monthly / quarterly P&L variance analysis, including presenting fluctuations to Corporate
•    Coordinate the preparation of the full balance sheet component of the annual operating plan.
•    Participate in the annual audit process with the external auditor including coordinating requests with the appropriate internal personnel and ensuring any requests are filled timely and accurately
•    Interface with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to assist in providing analysis to management on monthly financial results and to ensure capital expenditure reporting reconciles to the accounting records and cash flow forecast
•    Interface with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to assist in providing analysis to management on monthly financial results, including the integration of both financial and operational metrics to ensure the accuracy of plant financial reporting.
•    Learn the general ledger, fixed asset and consolidation (Hyperion) systems.  This role will be expected to be key users in each of these systems
•    Ensure business unit maintains compliance with appropriate internal controls and SOX requirements
•    Partner with the information technology group and site operations to drive continuous improvement in the areas of accounting, financial general ledger systems and financial processes
•    Assist in integration activities related to key areas of responsibility. 
•    Assist in the implementing and maintaining of multiple corporate initiatives with direct exposure and reporting to senior management
•    Latitude to suggest and implement improvements in the accounting and finance areas


Candidate Requirements:
•    A minimum of 4 years of solid experience in accounting for a manufacturing company
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or equivalent; CPA or CPA candidate preferred
•    Must have advanced Excel/Microsoft Office skills.  Prior experience with an MRP/ERP system is preferred.  HFM and/or IFS experience is a plus
•    Ability to successfully work to reach company goals within a team environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required
•    Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify solutions or approaches to complex problems.  Excellent judgment and decision-making ability
