Production Planner


Position Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for day-to-day production line scheduling, supply and demand analysis and inventory management, focusing on on-time delivery to Customers, efficient production scheduling and maintaining target inventories of sixty days on viable products. The selected individual will also work on different projects assigned by his/her direct supervisor.


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages day-to-day production planning for their production lines / categories.
    • Processes ERP output, schedules shop orders in a timely manner to support demand.
    • Ensures target inventory levels are maintained.
    • Ensures continuity of supply for all products.
    • Maintain macro and product line scorecards.
  • Consistently follows up on issues, open actions and production roadblocks.
  • Ensures forward capacity issues are communicated and addressed with preventive actions.
    • Defines constraints and potential solutions.
    • Monitors tooling refurbishment needs, machine capacity and scheduling.
    • Ensures early warning communications on product availability issues to all key stakeholders.
    • Prepares, analyzes and publishes reports as appropriate.
  • Responsible for data integrity of IFS production planning parameters.
  • Actively participates in structured problem solving and continuous improvement activities.


Candidate Requirements:


  • Associates Degree or equivalent minimum 2-4 years of production planning experience.
  • Experience with ERP, MPS, MRP II or other resource planning systems including production planning and capacity analysis; experience with IFS preferred.
  • Capable of coordinating multi-site supply and have the interpersonal skills needed to facilitate change and improvement. 
  • Excel skills required, such as worksheet creation, maintenance and ability to perform VLOOKUP functions and understanding Pivot Tables.
  • CPIM a plus.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10 percent of work time, including via airlines.
  • Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.

  • Follow all Safe Practices and safety policies and procedures.
  • Report all accident, incidents, safety violations, near misses or unsafe conditions to your Supervisory IMMEDIATELY.  If any bodily fluid (bloodborne pathogens) are present, it must be properly cleaned by a trained employee.

  • Adhere to all GFSI standards policies and procedures in regards to product Safety, Quality and Legality
