Master Scheduler


Position Summary:

Manage the operations, planning and scheduling responsibilities at the WNA Chelmsford plant to maximize production efficiency and maintain maximum customer satisfaction by completing orders on time.


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule production on all Plates, Cups, Utensils & other catering items both finished product and preprint items.
  • Maintain inventory in an orderly fashion.
  • Comply with all communication and reporting requirements of the job.
  • Schedule and plan so that changeovers are minimized while meeting expected customer agreements and delivery schedules.
  • Make certain to communicate with sales and customer service if delivery issues arise, i.e. back orders, late shipments and breakdowns well in advance if applicable to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Schedule, produce and obtain quality samples per customer. requirements, with minimum interruption in production, per published sample policy.
  • Monitor daily production and update reports.
  • Coordinate special runs for sales samples.
  • Create and Maintain all Shop orders.
  • Make any changes in schedule and inform all necessary departments.
  • Make up priority sheet that shows order in which each machine is needed to run.
  • Maintain scheduling files as required.
  • Meet/exceed scheduling goals as set forth by management.
  • Responsible for data integrity of IFS production planning parameters.
  • Monitors machine capacity and makes recommendations to ensure schedule attainment.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the site production planning team and maintains a productive working environment. Leads the team through the complex, technically involved analyses and reporting.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.



Candidate Requirements:

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent
  • Four to six years’ work experience as a scheduler in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continues improvements and process simplification.
  • Experience with ERP, MPS, MRP II or other resource planning systems including forecasting, demand planning and capacity analysis; experience with IFS preferred.
  • Must be capable of coordinating multi-site activities and have the interpersonal skills needed to facilitate change and improvement. 
  • Coordinate production schedule and ensure schedule is adhered.
  • Proficient Excel and data management skills required, good math and record keeping a plus.

  • Safety is always the number one priority.  All actions taken will be conducted in the safest manner possible and without risking injury to yourself or others. 
  • Follow all Safe Practices and safety policies and procedures.
  • Report all accident, incidents, safety violations, near misses or unsafe conditions to your Supervisory IMMEDIATELY.  If any bodily fluid (bloodborne pathogens) are present, it must be properly cleaned by a trained employee.
