Inventory Control Manager


Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the movement and transactions associated with our inventory in all WNA Chelmsford facilities. This person will interact with the purchasing, manufacturing, forecasting and operations departments.


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate inventory variances, determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Audit material movement between sites.
  • Develop inventory storage plan in warehouse based on forecasted volume.
  • Reconcile manufacturing transactions.
  • Ensure all inventory stock movements are being executed timely and accurately.
  • Research missing items and warehouse transfers
  • Evaluate material usage and assist in establishing adequate bin locations.
  • Creates and maintains inventory control, audit and cycle count procedures, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with company policies and procedures
  • Perform, maintain, track and report inventory adjustment and relevant findings
  • Recommends operational process improvements and develop strategies to enhance performance, systems, accuracy levels and inventory touch points
  • Collaborates with Finance on inventory valuation, variances, SLOB and corrective actions
  • Leads monthly cycle counting and annual physical inventories including variance analysis.
  • Manages integrity of inventory data in ERP & WMS.
  • Defines and implements inventory control KPI’s.
  • Develops standard operating procedures and business processes related to inventory control activities.
  • Develops inventory reporting management dashboards
  • Implement improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory shrinkage and maximize turns.
  • Audits material movements between all sites.
  • Evaluates inventory by location to achieve OTIF in CE and CW.
  • Develop a team of individuals to ensure data integrity and timely processing of all transactions.
  • Enforce GMP’s and standard work


Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5 plus years’ experience
  • Certification in Inventory Control a plus
  • Must have a thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate with all areas of the business. 
  • Experience in working with manufacturing work orders preferred.

  • Follow all Safe Practices and safety policies and procedures.
  • Report all accident, incidents, safety violations, near misses or unsafe conditions to your Supervisory IMMEDIATELY.  If any bodily fluid (bloodborne pathogens) are present, it must be properly cleaned by a trained employee.
