Associate Product Manager

 

Position Summary:

At our Waddington Division, we are looking for an enthusiastic marketer to join our marketing department to help develop product strategies and manage projects through our network of manufacturing facilities.  The Associate Product Manager will support new product development, product and packaging changes and field launches.  This role requires working effectively with a diverse range of cross-functional partners, strong analytical capabilities, good communication skills, and solid project leadership with high initiative and follow-through. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include participating in cross-functional teams, managing projects, completing new product execution, performing business analysis and tracking. In addition, supporting the Product Managers with the overall B2B and B2C marketing and management of the product portfolio. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support Product Manager Team in achieving NPI Annual Plans
  • Participate in development of annual business plans including marketing strategies & financials
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver sales revenue growth targets
  • Ensure new products are launched complete to the field.
  • Support Product Manager in development of new product solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales to ensure new solutions are those that end-users trust and embrace as their own, with strong innovation and unique features and benefits specific to the users’ needs.
  • Assist in development of portfolio vision, product positioning, and marketing communications by assisting in sales presentations, webinars, tradeshows, etc.
  • Obtain end-user insights that provide competitive advantages via market research activities.
  • Analyze research findings, track trends and maintain competitive analysis in the foodservice, food packaging and consumer marketplace.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Ops organizations to bring new products to market
  • Manage all projects related to new product launches, product, art or packaging changes. Champion the project tasks throughout each plant to ensure product specifications are created and kept current.
  • Work with supply chain and operations to develop and improve packaging for product portfolio.
  • Support all product cost savings initiatives.
  • Participate in forecasting and planning activities with Product Manager to ensure demand and supply for new and existing products, particularly planning for peak seasons.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure appropriate inventory and shared alignment of objectives.
  • Maintain all product specification across our digital platforms:     
    • Ensure all specifications are kept current across websites, ecommerce, and sales materials
    • Support cross reference to competitive databased in support of competitive conversions and bids.
  • Support Amazon Efforts
    • Support all marketing efforts with internal team and external agency staff to ensure appropriate A+ content, storefronts and imagery is aligned to drive sales.
    • Keep dashboard current to showcase achievement to sales and goals
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional partners
  • Raise level of understanding across organization of our users, products, and the external marketplace
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • 1-3 Years in Marketing, Engineering, or Project Management role.
  • Interpersonal skills and business maturity to work effectively with individuals both internal and external to the company
  • Results orientation and a high degree of initiative, follow-through, and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, as well as to analyze problems and make independent judgments to initiate corrective action and resolution.
  • Strong time management and planning skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities
  • Strong detail orientation, awareness of urgency in communication, while displaying diplomacy in day-to-day interactions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Has a proven record of demonstrating the following skills:
      • Problem-solving and decision making
      • Collaboration and teamwork
      • Creativity
      • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to balance multiple assignments at once

Safety Expectations:

  • Safety is always the number one priority.  All actions taken will be conducted in the safest manner possible and without risking injury to yourself or others. 
  • Follow all Safe Practices and safety policies and procedures.
  • Report all accident, incidents, safety violations, near misses or unsafe conditions to your Supervisory IMMEDIATELY.  If any bodily fluid (bloodborne pathogens) are present, it must be properly cleaned by a trained employee.
