Site Manager


Position Summary:

The Site Manager is directly accountable and responsible for the management of environmental, health, safety, sanitation, security, quality, production, scheduling/planning, continuous improvement, engineering, maintenance, and distribution/warehousing activities of a multiple plant location in accordance with the company’s policies, principles, and procedures.  The  Site Manager will continuously review all of the operational processes, systems, assets, and methodologies of his/her plant and will develop strategic and tactical operational plans that align with the objectives and strategies of the company’s annual business plan and budget.


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve industry benchmark status in the areas of safety, hygiene, service, quality, and cost by effectively leading, leveraging, coordinating, and aligning all resources and assets.
  • Bring to the organization a disciplined approach to achieving operational excellence through the application and execution of Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, PPM, ISO, EHHS, and “progress/success through people” strategies, procedures, and standards.
  • Motivate and acquire the trust and respect of superiors, peers and subordinates by being participating, energetic, and results generating.
  • Create, cause, and sustain urgency, expectations and attitude toward achieving the target state.
  • Advance initiatives that promote and sustain the safety, health, security, and welfare of all personnel.
  • Develop annual business plan and budget / tactical plan to achieve plan.
  • Inspire and maintain a safe, clean, orderly (5S), and environmental compliant facility.
  • Perpetually assess and adjust strategies, systems, procedures, performance, capabilities, equipment, facilities, and people to continuously enhance safety, production, service, quality, and profitability.
  • Oversight of all production, planning/scheduling, engineering/maintenance, quality, distribution, and warehousing activities in accordance with company policies, principles, procedures, values, and standards.
  • Effective management, overall direction, coordination, development, and motivation of subordinate managers. 
  • Execution of supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws,  including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Conference and collaborate with customers, sales, and internal/external support resources to evaluate, develop, and promote strategies designed to improve service, quality, and product value.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
    Candidate Requirements:              
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with special emphasis in Manufacturing, Business
  • 8+ years’ experience in a high paced, mixed model repetitive,  injection molding or thermoforming manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in running a 24/7 multi plant organization with approx 400 employees
  • Business Acumen - understands the business implications of his/her decisions; displays orientation to profitability; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; and aligns all work with strategic goals.
  • Strategic Thinking - develops vision and strategies to achieve organizational objectives; understands plant’s strengths & weaknesses; analyzes market and competition; identifies external threats and opportunities; and adapts strategy to shifting conditions.
  • Managing People - includes subordinates and connections in planning, decision-making, and process improvement activities; accepts responsibility for subordinate’s activities and performance; makes self-available to subordinates; provides regular performance feedback; develops subordinate’s skills and encourages growth; and solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external).
  • Problem Solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; and uses facts and reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Teamwork - gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; and supports everyone's efforts to succeed.
  • Change Management - develops workable implementation plans; communicates changes effectively; builds commitment and overcomes resistance; prepares and supports those affected by change; and frequently monitors transition and evaluates results.
