Job Title:

Extrusion Line Cell Leader

Days and  Nights positions are both available  Hours are 4:30 PM to 5 AM for Nights and 4:30 AM to 5 PM for Days. 

 

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Production Supervisors and designated Floor Leads, this position is responsible to assist the extrusion operator in the efficient set-up and operation of extrusion lines  in order to safely produce high-quality bags in accordance with the job safety analyses (JSA’s), production schedule, set-up instructions, operating procedures, and quality specifications, etc.

 

 Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and follow all JSA’s and safety procedures/policies.
  • Safely and efficiently assist the extrusion operator in set-up and operation of extrusion lines to produce high quality LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) film.
  • Assist the Extrusion Operator in operating extrusion lines in accordance with job safety analysis, standard operating procedures, and operator training to meet or exceed productivity requirements and minimize downtime and waste.
  • Ensure that proper materials are being used in accordance with procedures.
  • Properly uses testing and measuring equipment and hand tools.
  • Completes all preventative maintenance including pin and screen changes.
  • Assists in the monitoring of roll weights to ensure the correct gauge is maintained throughout the shift.
  • Assures proper packaging and labeling of film.
  • Assists in completing daily production reporting.

 

 Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have knowledge of extrusion machines and equipment operations.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required 
  • Able to effectively communicate. 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment. 
  • Knowledge and ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Satisfactory completion of training courses and pass skill set reviews as required for the position.
  • Ability to perform physical and essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts and overtime as needed.

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in a manufacturing work environment.  Constant physical activities are required for this position.  Such activities include: ability to reach overhead, squat, and bend at the waist; the ability to lift boxes of 60 lbs. or more; ability to climb up and down stairs throughout a 12 hour shift; tolerance of standing posture continuously for 12 hours; intense walking is involved; able to tolerate working environment with inside excessive hot and cold temperatures.
