Job Title:

Production Scheduler (Maternity Leave Contract)

 

Position Summary:

To process and schedule all work orders through the plant so as to maximize efficiency and meet customer due dates.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduling meetings daily
  • Organize production schedule by studying work order specifications, current schedule and availability of equipment, materials, and operators to ensure efficient workflow through all departments.
  • Adjust schedule to meet customer requirements balanced with maximizing resource efficiency.
  • Calculate delivery dates for each order.
  • Set the firm schedule line for each workstation.
  • Export and email copies of the schedule by 11:00AM daily.
  • Communicate to Department heads/Lead hands when scheduling issues/changes occur or when workstations are falling behind schedule.
  • Liaison between production and customer service to keep customers informed of any status changes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of planning and control systems.
  • Resist requests to change the schedule that would negatively impact efficiencies.
  • Purchase specialty films and manage them through the schedule
  • Weekly reporting of open orders, forecast, and backlogs to S&OP team and Plant Manager
  • Projects as assigned.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • College/University degree
  • Manufacturing processes and multi- level production planning.
  • 5 Years industry experience and 2 years Production scheduling
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and general computer skills
  • Microsoft Dynamics Navision ERP system experience is a definite asset
  • Strong analytical skill
  • Knowledge of flexo printing, extrusion and bag making processes.
  • Packaging experience is preferred
  • The manufacturing environment is fast paced and requires a high level of attention to details.
  • Individual must be action oriented and have a sense of urgency
