Job Title:

Manager, BI, Data & Analytics 

 

Position Summary:

As a Manager of Business Intelligence, Data & Analytics, you will be responsible for the delivery of data, reporting platforms and solutions to key business stakeholders enabling them to make data-driven decisions. You will help develop and drive a data strategy as well as manage the day-to-day operations of the BI, Data & Analytics Team.

The candidate will be self-motivated, innovative, and passionate about data.  You will work across multiple geographies with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, and collaborative, environment and play a significant role in the growth of the Company.

This position would be highly suited to a senior BI consultant or developer, who is looking for the next step in your career and wants to take on more responsibility and lead a team of BI analysts and developers. This is an IT leadership role, accountable for transforming the BI, Data & Analytics Team to effectively support the associates of Novolex, empowering end-users to be both supported & self-reliant with their data needs. Customer Service, team building (in a distributed environment which includes remote workers) & also metrics must be at the forefront of your leadership approach.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides effective leadership, direction & mentoring for a performance-focused organization that is centered on meeting service level commitments
  • Develops BI, data and analytics strategy, inclusive of technology roadmaps that aligns with the Information Technology vision
  • Develop relationships with business stakeholders to understand requirements and drive them towards efficient technology solutions
  • Identify and define data assets that relate to critical business functions
  • Lead the design and development of data models; identify interconnections to drive efficiency and global alignment
  • Control the quality of the data that is reported
  • Analyze end-user reporting requirements and develop reports and dashboards per business requirements
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.
  • Monitor, control & support service delivery; ensuring systems, methodologies & procedures are in place & followed
  • Be accountable for the quality of Service & performance; ensuring future demand from growth & projects is understood & factored into capacity plans for all associated systems
  • Provide continuous improvement on the services offered through the development and measurement of key performance indicators
  • This job has responsibility for leading technology implementation & support, as well as product strategy of related BI and data technology platforms such as Oracle BI (OBIEE), Microsoft data warehouses, and PowerBI

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience managing global BI projects and teams and delivering projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven expertise in data modelling and data quality management
  • Proven expertise in data warehouse technologies (including integrations with source application systems)
  • Solid understanding of BI development life cycle
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational databases (as well as ETL processes and development)
  • Experience with BI tools such as OBIEE or PowerBI
  • Solid understanding of BI trends
  • Understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems from both operational and analytical points of view is considered essential
  • Good communication skills and ability to influence business stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing environment with globally distributed team members
  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science
  • Travel – occasional – 10-15% of time
