Job Title:

Human Resources Generalist

 

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the Human Resources Manager with day-to-day HR leadership functions. This is a developmental position. Will consider relocation assistance for the right candidate.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as back-up HR Manager
  • Tracks and maintains attendance records; prepares attendance notification documents
  • Completes Personnel Change Notice forms
  • Coordinates and assists in all recruitment-related activities including, but not limited to; posting/communicating open positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, updating job descriptions, etc.
  • Conducts new-hire orientation
  • Process background checks and pre-employment requirements
  • Completes employment verification requests
  • Maintains employee personnel files
  • Assists with Employee Relations issues
  • Compiles data and publishes related reports including turnover, absenteeism, head count, vacation, etc.
  • Maintains hourly employee vacation schedule
  • Ensures accuracy of and processes employee benefits paperwork
  • Compiles and reports Human Resources and Environmental, Health and Safety data.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail
  • Ensures legal compliance – EEO, AAP, FLSA, etc.
  • All other tasks and duties, as assigned
     
    Candidate Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources, or a combination of education and 3-5 years of work-related experience required
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of Human Resources experience (can be internship/co-op experience)
  • Experience with Kronos, ADP or similar HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with ability to build lasting productive business relationships with hourly employees, management, and peers
  • Must possess a high degree of professionalism in handling confidential information
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational and auditing skills required
  • Critical decision maker with the ability to work independently
