Position Summary:

The position is responsible for developing and executing category strategies to drive value for Novolex.  This role will lead activities throughout entire supply chain system including strategic sourcing, supplier ownership, cost reduction initiatives and material planning ensuring tight supply/demand alignment, timely supply delivery, data analytics, and effective communication across departments.  This position requires working closely with cross-functional partners in Operations, Sales, Sales & Operations Planning, Product Development and Logistics to reduce costs and streamline business processes. 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes the strategic sourcing plan for assigned raw materials in support of the company's growth objectives.
  • Manages existing relationships with strategic suppliers to create a mutually beneficial supplier partnership while meeting or exceeding overall business objectives.
  • Lead multi-site material implementations working with plant personnel and operation leadership.
  • Monitor supplier performance and identify cost reduction and productivity improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and develop new sources of supply as needed.
  • Provides regular status updates to management and other key stakeholders on sourcing initiatives, market analytics, and cost saving strategies.
  • Effectively work with team members to have proper control systems in place to ensure accountability and to prevent decision making bottlenecks.
  • Ability to effectively compile and analyze complex sets of data in support of initiatives, as assigned.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment interacting with plant personnel, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Candidate Requirements:

•     Bachelor's Degree in Supply Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

•     Previous experience in multi-site implementations.

•     Previous packaging or other raw material category experience is a plus.

•     Project management experience is a plus.

•     3 + years of related experience in a process and/ or packaging manufacturing industry (preferred).

•     Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.

•     Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems.

•     Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
