Infrastructure Operations Manager – Remote – United States                                                 


Position Summary:

The Infrastructure Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Novolex global network, communications, and data center technologies. This includes managing the IT Infrastructure Engineers responsible for Novolex’s network assets and for their development. The position will work with other IT, department, and plant managers in order to support their needs, and the current infrastructure, developing and deploying cost-effective, productivity enhancing solutions for all aspects of the organization.

The position must also effortlessly switch between the role of manager and engineer as this position facilitates the senior engineer role.  To accomplish this, the candidate must have extensive, intimate familiarity with solutions from Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Unity and Veeam. They will also need to have strong, hands-on technical experience maintaining datacenter technologies such as converged infrastructure, servers, storage area networks, virtualization solutions, and routers.


Managerial Requirements:

  • Oversees and maintains the global data centers, network topology, telephony solutions, wireless networks, and more
  • Ensures appropriate IT utilities, software, hardware, and other technologies are being used to streamline internal operations, are best optimized for performance, and are increasing company productivity
  • Provisions technological equipment, services and software in adherence with corporate purchasing guidelines
  • Manage data protection, backup, replication, and recovery procedures for all systems and solutions
  • Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the network infrastructure
  • Have extensive experience in design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of large, complex IP-based networks
  • Provide business technology continuity and disaster solutions for the business-critical systems
  • Defines, develops and tracks related metrics consistent with Novolex SLAs
  • Determines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Infrastructure team
  • Design and implement short and long-term strategic plans to make certain infrastructure technologies meet existing and future requirements
  • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing infrastructure performance and providing resulting performances statistics and reports
  • Maintain and develop required diagrams, documentation and procedures to ensure continuous operation of supported infrastructure systems
  • Maintains and grows partnerships with IT vendors and providers
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Other duties as assigned by the manager

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware professional certifications preferred
  • 10 years of Enterprise level, IT Infrastructure experience in a senior, hands-on technical role
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role involving team leadership with infrastructure planning, development and implementation
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • 6-8 weeks of travel annually by vehicle and plane
  • Ability to lift 50-80 pounds as needed
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment for extended durations
  • Ability to work 30-40 feet up in lifts
