Position Summary:

The Demand / Supply Planner will be a key contributor to the Hilex monthly S&OP process.   They will oversee and provide input into the demand plan created by the finance team.  They will develop a supply plan that balances supply, demand and inventory in a way that meets the business goals for cost and service.  This highly impactful and visible role will communicate and present with stakeholders and leaders across the organization.  This role will ensure that the supply plan being used for their products and assets is aligned and as accurate as possible to be used for making decisions in financial planning, manufacturing asset changes, staffing, procurement of raw materials, and final customer fulfillment. 

 

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Finance and sales to develop monthly sales forecast
  • Own the statistical forecast tool (Forecast X) to create the monthly forecast for make to order items
  • Participate in the month demand review in the Monthly S&OP cycle
  • Partner with the manufacturing teams to create the Supply Plan for the assigned scope
  • Own the Monthly Supply Planning process in the Monthly S&OP cycle
    • Analyze, understand and put in corrective actions to improve Supply Planning accuracy
    • Analyze current plan and assess gaps and opportunities
    • During the monthly Supply Review, align the team on the plan for supply (production, inventory build/burn, and key raw material supply changes) at aggregated product sub family levels
    • Evaluate, analyze, make recommendations and drive changes to improve on capacity utilization per site/asset group/asset
    • Be able to review and/or answer questions regarding the Supply Plan during the Executive S&OP meeting.
    • On a regular basis participate in meetings regarding asset utilization, capital needs, new product reviews.
    • Communicate changes to supply (production/inventory) to affected stakeholders in S&OP, Procurement, Manufacturing and Logistics.
    • On an annual basis, work with the Manufacturing and Finance team to generate the Supply Plan for the AOP process
  • Own the supply plan for all imported items
    • Work with procurement on order quantities, supplier selection, and costing of import items
    • Create a twice-monthly supply plan for all import items
  • Work with the Master Planner and Schedulers for your sites/products to ensure that the order package is aligned with the Supply Plan and drive actions to close the future gap
  • Participate in manufacturing team meetings to provide inputs regarding overall S&OP and Demand Plan, and to learn significant manufacturing changes and needs
  • Other potential projects/responsibilities
    • Continuous improvements to the Demand / Supply Planning process
  • Primary KPI’s
    • Demand Planning Accuracy (DPA) for assigned scope
    • SKU level forecast accuracy (MAPE/Bias) for inventory planned items
    • Supply Planning Accuracy
    • Timeliness of the monthly S&OP Planning cycle

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Relevant BA/BS degree
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Analytical capability
    • Advanced Excel
    • Databases
    • Ability to translate data into information and conclusions
    • Ability to communicate the impact of the analysis
  • Ability to communicate with business partners at different locations and different leadership levels
  • Strong judgement, confidence and business understanding to make decisions and challenge stakeholders
