Job Title:

Customer Service Manager - GPP

 

Position Summary:

The Customer Service Manager manages assigned customer accounts, from entry to delivery (order to cash), to ensure customers’ expectations are achieved.  Effectively develops relationships with customers, as well as sales and manufacturing personnel, through excellent service and regular communication.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Order entry, which includes verifying accuracy of customer orders (prints, product codes, pricing, delivery date, etc.)
  • New customer set up which includes gathering of pertinent information needed for customer master files.
  • Handling of miscellaneous customer inquiries/requests.
  • Working with plants/ schedulers/logistics/ sales/brokers/ accounting/ sales service personnel on customer matters.
  • Customer profile maintenance and order/invoice file maintenance. Customer complaint (CSR) processing.
  • Monitoring customer service reports, i.e. late shipment report, etc. Responsible for monitoring customer inventories at plants/warehouses.
  • Monitoring profiles (order entry against forecast) and reporting on unusual activity. Participation in meetings, customer calls and customer visits as appropriate.
  • Assistance in development of support activities.
  • Product code maintenance, i.e. monitoring current product codes and obsoleting old ones.
  • Assisting with training of new employees or personnel used as a back-up and providing back-up assistance to other customer service departments as needed.
  • Acts as primary contact in understanding and responding to customer needs. Responds to customer inquiries expeditiously, offering alternatives and striving towards first call resolution.
  • Supports inventory management by monitoring and reporting inventory status and initiating recommendations and actions to adjust or replenish inventory levels to ensure working capital targets are achieved.
  • Understands all steps of the order fulfillment process utilizing network computer systems, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Develops relationships with sales and marketing professionals to assure accurate order pricing and product on all customer orders. Provides timely, complete and direct information to communicate within the organization and the customer base. 
  • Performing other miscellaneous duties as required

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Good time-management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred. Prior successful industry customer service experience and/or a proven track record of accomplishments in working in an environment servicing internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency using personal computer, including MS Office software required. Understanding of order management business software – SAP experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and follow up with questions, comments or concerns in the manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma required.  Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
