Job Title:             Building Maintenance

1st Shift:            645AM-245PM


Must pass Building Maintenance written test.


Position Summary:

Perform repair and maintenance duties in plant facility, as directed by Maintenance Manager.


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and abide by all corporate and plant safety and compliance rules.
  • Follow all PPE and food quality policies, utilizing steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc.
  • Follow GMP in compliance with all food safety requirements.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and organized during shift, in accordance with standards.
  • Handle responsibility for plumbing, construction tasks, general building repair, modifications and upgrades, fabrication and repair of all wood-related projects.
  • Handle removal of snow/ice from parking lot and sidewalks.
  • Maintain and repair heating and cooling related systems
  • Perform weekly inspection of fire systems.
  • Ensure that work is done safely, correctly, and in a timely fashion, minimizing any breakdown time. 
  • Troubleshoot in plant in order to discover potential hazards or breakdowns. 
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management, including food safety.


Candidate Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, maintenance courses preferred
  • One (1) year previous construction/laborer work required
  • Basic knowledge of construction, plumbing, and pneumatics required
  • Experience in basic welding, use of hand and power tools, and blueprint reading required
  • Able to successfully complete required testing
  • Qualified applicant must be able to work at various height level, lift a minimum of 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.  Qualified applicant must be able to crawl, kneel, climb, bend, walk, and stand for several hours. In addition, such qualified applicant must have depth perception and be able to distinguish colors.
