Maintenance Mechanic Level 3


Position Summary:

While working in a Safe and effective manner and keeping Quality in mind at all time. Work in a cooperative team environment to carry out the Preventative Maintenance Program, troubleshoot and repair Mechanical/Electrical, Pneumatic/Hydraulics and instrumentation issues in the plant with minimum supervision. Perform all other duties and tasks as directed by supervisor/management.


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Must maintain adherence to Safety, Quality policy and Company Guidelines.
  • Ability to perform all functions, to an above-standard level, for the Maintenance level 3 position.
  • Set priorities that reflect the relative importance of job assignments.
  • Have the knowledge and ability to work and train with other technicians.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment, perform preliminary diagnosis and form a solution.
  • Must have skills in the safe operation of machine shop equipment (lathe, mill, grinder, welder etc.)
  • Lay out small projects, complete material list from drawings.
  • Ability to fabricate metals and make repairs on building and equipment parts.
  • Analyze equipment and write to improve both preventative and predictive maintenance procedures.
  • Must have the skills to perform repairs to keep production equipment operating in a safe manner.
  • Perform of various pieces of equipment, piping, plumbing fixtures, water lines and other plumbing equipment.
  • Perform routine, complex and specialized tasks involved in the installation, maintenance, servicing, modification, troubleshooting and calibration of equipment.
  • Conduct functional checks of equipment; maintain current ability to start and dry run sections of equipment.
  • Demonstrate initiative and concern for planning, time utilization and cost containment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely departmental documentation.
  • Develop and manage a plan for growth and new skill acquisition.
  • Provide qualified mentoring to other maintenance employees and may provide leadership in managing short-term projects.
  • Troubleshoot and repair ink system.
  • Able to start all auxiliary equipment in plant for production or troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of all Emergency and safety, policies and procedures, documentation procedures, equipment operating parameters as well as all SDS, EPA and OSHA requirements.
  • Absolute adherence all lock out/ tag out procedures.
  • Comprehension of technical manuals
  • Independently solve everyday problems following instructions and taking initiative.
  • Able to work independently and in cooperation with other employees.
  • Recognize and minimize waste generation.
  • Strive to consistently achieve quality product safely.



Candidate Requirements:

  • High school degree or GED. Additional applicable training and/or certification from a recognized trade school or a minimum of five years’ experience in an applicable maintenance field
  • Ability to understand and interpret schematics and illustrated parts drawing of equipment.
  • Ability to be a team player with a “can do” attitude.
  • Must be capable of working in hot, dirty environments.
  • Capable of standing for long periods of time.
  • Lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work demands outside of regular work shift.
  • Must have skills in MS office.
